“I think his (Rajon Rondo) future is bright, I think someone will be getting a hungry veteran who’s still in the prime of his career,” (Ex-teammate Keyon) Dooling said. “We’re talking about one of the most unselfish players in the league in his selfish ways. It’s like an anomaly. He’s the most unselfish player in the world on the court but for some reason he has a selfish image. I’m biased because that’s my friend, but I just don’t get it.”

Dooling said Rondo’s reputation won’t be based solely on his interaction with (Mavericks Coach Rick) Carlisle.

“His future is going to be bright, most good players in this league are going to want to play with him,” Dooling said. “Also, the fit in Dallas wasn’t good. You have to have a backcourt that plays off of one another. Those guys [Rondo and shooting guard Monta Ellis] both play similar in that they have to have the ball in order to make an impact. I don’t think that situation was great.”
