Fine, Suspension Coming for Knicks’ J.R. Smith?

Glen Rice went down so hard that it appeared he might’ve had an issue with a right ankle sprain that he developed in the preseason. Instead, it was clear what happened: J.R. Smith, making a move with the ball and probably frustrated by the pressure defense, chopped him in the crotch with his off hand. The Wizards expect the league office to review and expect some form of discipline to come soon.

The Wizards, CSNwashington.com is told, will be in contact and encourage the NBA to render a judgment on the play which could result in a fine, suspension or both for Smith.
