Miami Heat veteran guard Ray Allen is dealing with a case of the flu and might not be available to play Wednesday night in an Eastern Conference showdown against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

Allen did not participate in the Heat’s morning shootaround in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra classifed Allen’s status as doubtful.

The Heat and Pacers are battling for the No. 1 seed in the East. The first-place Pacers were two games up going into the matchup.

Heat guard Dwyane Wade hoped to play after missing two games with a sore Achilles. He participated in the team’s shootaround.

Wade has sat out 19 games this season because of various medical issues or to rest. In 50 games, he is averaging 19.3 points, 4.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds.

In a Dec. 18 meeting with the Pacers, Wade scored a season-high 32 points in a 97-74 win.
