Guard/forward Ameen Tanksley scored 23 points, and guard Brian Bernardi added 20 as visiting Hofstra won its fourth consecutive game, cruising past Coppin State 105-64 in a nonconference matchup Wednesday in Baltimore.

Guard Juan’ya Green added 17 points with 10 rebounds, and guard/forward Jamall Robinson had 14 points for the Pride (7-2). Guard/forward Malik Nichols scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Hofstra, which has won three straight road contests.

Guard Sterling Smith led Coppin State with 12 points, while guard Taariq Cephas added 11. Guards Christian Kessee and Shomari Triggs had 10 points apiece for the Eagles (1-8), who were playing just their second home game and have yet to beat a Division I opponent this season.

A layup by guard Dion Nesmith gave the Pride a 23-13 lead almost midway through the first half. Hofstra continued to pull away, and a layup by Tanksley increased the margin to 32-15.

Green scored 12 first-half points, and the Pride led 48-26 at the break. The Eagles shot just 8-for-30 (26.7 percent) from the field before halftime.

Hofstra continued to pull away in the second half, and a 3-pointer by Bernardi gave the Pride a 63-32 lead with 15 minutes left.

The Pride beat an opponent by 30 or more points for the third time this season.
