Although it’s not a certainty that the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers will face each other in the first round of the playoffs, that matchup seems like a good possibility with a month left in the regular season.
“It’s going to be a physical series, a hostile series,” Clippers guard Austin Rivers said when asked about the potential matchup. “They’re a really good team. They got good players. I would imagine it would be a physical, really physical series.”

It’s also unclear if the Spurs would be willing to trade [Kawhi] Leonard to the Lakers or any other team. If they are, other teams might have more significant assets to offer, especially given that the Lakers do not have a lottery pick this year. They will select 25th in next week’s draft, a pick they got in a trade with Cleveland.
