JaKarr Sampson said he has no ill will toward the 76ers. Some might argue that he has every right to do so, though. The guard flew here with the team from Philadelphia on Thursday morning. He participated in the afternoon practice at the Smoothie King Center. Then after returning to the team hotel, he was waived in the evening to make room on the 15-man roster for Joel Anthony.

The Sixers acquired Anthony, a former Detroit Pistons center, in Thursday’s three-team trade with the Pistons and Houston Rockets. Anthony is expected to be released. The Sixers hope to be able to resign Sampson, assuming he clears waivers by 5 p.m. Sunday.

“I don’t have anything negative to say about Philly,” Sampson said Friday. “I feel like a lot of people in my situation might have something negative to say about Philly, like a ‘why-me’ type of thing. But I don’t have anything negative to say about the organization. I love those guys.”
