With the 14th overall pick in the NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics have selected Romeo Langford, a guard from Indiana University.

Langford dealt with unfortunate ailments all season long, but scouts have loved his talent from day one. Over 32 games with the Hoosiers, Langford averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists on 44.8 percent from the floor. In Boston, he’ll join a suddenly shifting roster — with the possible departures of Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and others — but Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown represent a strong future in the Northeast.

At 6-foot-6, Langford possesses elite athleticism and fantastic scoring potential — traits he’ll get to exhibit in spades in Boston. Paired with the supreme head coaching of Brad Stevens, Langford is an excellent two-way player that’ll contribute to a playoff-bound roster almost immediately.

Earlier this month, Basketball Insiders’ Spencer Davies went deep on Langford’s pro-level potential — so go check that out for a closer look at the Celtics’ newest prospect.
