NBA Draft Headlines
Arizona’s Gordon, Johnson Leave for NBA
Versatile forward Aaron Gordon entered the college basketball landscape as part of one of the most decorated freshman classes in recent memory.
Now, he’ll leave with a handful of those freshmen.
The Arizona forward announced Tuesday he’d be leaving school early to declare for the NBA draft, an expected decision based on Gordon’s upside as a projected lottery pick.
Perhaps more surprising was Nick Johnson’s decision to bypass his senior season and enter his name in the NBA draft. Johnson is a projected late first-round pick at best and his loss significantly dents Arizona’s Final Four hopes in 2014-15. The Wildcats were the No. 2 team in USA TODAY Sports’ projected top 25 for 2014-15.
