The 32-year-old forward (David Lee) understands his situation with the Celtics. Coach Brad Stevens has a lot of players worthy of time, several players worthy of being in the starting lineup, and countless combinations he can go to with the game on the line.

Right now, Lee isn’t exactly at the top of the pecking order in any of those departments. But, coming off a 14-point performance in Wednesday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Lee said before Friday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets that he feels he is ready to make his case to move up in the rotation.

“I feel really confident right now,” he said. “I am starting to finish (at the rim). I felt really good the last game in the (isolations) and Lee)d the post-ups that I had. I am really, I think, in good enough shape right now to extend my minutes and to be comfortable out there whatever coach needs me to do.”
