Celtics’ Wallace Comfortable with Bench Role

(Boston Celtics Gerald) Wallace explained: “I’m here for supportive veteran leadership. Whatever the coach needs me to do. We’ve already talked about it. I’m in a position where I’m comfortable with it.”

That’s a far cry from last year, when Wallace initially groaned about a demotion to the second unit.

“It’s a lot easier right now because I don’t feel myself at 100 percent,” he said. “I’m still battling, trying to get my knee back to where I want it to be. At this point I don’t feel like I can play 30 or 40 minutes right now, with my knee the way it is. I’m still a work in progress of getting myself back to 100 percent so I’m comfortable with it.”
