The six players who worked out Saturday know they aren’t high draft picks and yet that’s not a problem. They realize that many players can be a second-round pick and it can pan out well. They point to Lakers point guard Jordan Clarkson, a second-round pick who ended up starting much of last season.

“It gives you a lot of hope seeing how great he played last year and how good he is,” Greene, a 6-foot-2 guard, said. “It just gives you a lot of hope of staying with the grind and knowing anything can happen.”

“It’s not where you start, it’s all about where you finish,” (D.J.) Newbill said.
