(James) Harden no longer cares about honors within his reach. And his lack of concern is not limited to whether he starts the All-Star Game. He doesn’t care about the MVP voting, either, having decided from experience the only accolades that matter are determined on the scoreboard.

“I don’t even care about All-Star,” Harden said. “I’m so caught up on this team and how much talent we’ve got – this is probably the most talent we’ve had since I’ve been here – and the great opportunity we have, All-Star is in the back of my mind somewhere.”

“All those other things don’t matter anymore,” Harden said. “We have a bigger picture than we’ve had since I’ve been here. Obviously, being an All-Star is a great accomplishment, a great individual achievement. There is something bigger now, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
