Forward Jesse Chuku scored 15 points and forward Tim Kempton added 14 as Lehigh claimed a 66-52 Patriot League victory over Loyola-Maryland on Saturday at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa.

The Mountain Hawks (13-12, 6-6) won for the fifth time in six games and swept the two-game season series with the Greyhounds.

Loyola (10-13, 5-7) dropped its sixth straight conference road game despite 17 points from guard Eric Laster and 13 by forward Jordan Latham.

The Greyhounds were without guard Dylon Cormier, the team’s scoring leader at 21.2 points per game, who underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair an injured left wrist and could be out for the season.

Chuku had 10 first half points as Lehigh opened a 27-21 halftime lead.

Loyola crept back to within 29-27 on Latham’s layup with 17:26 showing in the second half.

But Lehigh replied with a 10-2 run to restore a double-digit lead at 39-29. The Greyhounds never got closer than six points before the Mountain Hawks pulled out to a late 14-point lead.

Both teams resume Patriot League play on Wednesday, as Lehigh travels to American while Loyola visits Lafayette.
