Monson, Long Beach St. reach extension

Dan Monson signed a contract extension to remain at Long Beach State through 2018-19.

Monson, who made previous stops at Gonzaga and Minnesota, has won 19 games three of the past four seasons, including a 2012 NCAA Tournament appearance.

“Dan Monson has been a terrific leader for the basketball program and this extension will ensure the continuity we need advance the program, win championships and gain NCAA appearances,” school AD Vic Cegles said. “His ability to find and recruit players who are committed to the community and to graduation has been outstanding.”
