The Golden State Warriors are adding Ron Adams to their coaching staff.

The Boston Herald reported that Adams, a highly-respected Boston Celtics assistant, accepted an offer from the Warriors on Monday. Adams is a California native.

The Warriors coveted David Blatt, who had a successful 20-year coaching career in Europe, but he took the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching job late last week.

Adams is considered a strong defensive mind to help new head coach Steve Kerr.
