University at Buffalo coach Nate Oats has hired former Detroit Pistons guard Lindsey Hunter to his staff.

Hunter won two NBA championships during a 17-year career before eventually getting into coaching. He was the Phoenix Suns’ interim coach in closing the 2012-13 season and then spent the following year as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.
