Vice President Joe Biden called Syracuse freshman point guard Tyler Ennis on Thursday to congratulate Ennis on his game-winning 35-foot shot against Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

The vice president’s office tweeted a photograph of Biden at his desk while on the phone with Ennis, the Associated Press reported.

Biden received his law degree from Syracuse.

Ennis enabled the Orange to improve their unbeaten record to 24-0 with the shot. He took an inbounds pass with 4.4 seconds left and Syracuse trailing by a point. Ennis dribbled across midcourt and launched his shot between two defenders.

The three-point shot gave Syracuse a 58-56 victory at Pitt.
