Brian Shaw Guilty of ‘trying to please everybody’?
The blame falls on coach Brian Shaw for the Nuggets’ ugly free fall. It’s his job to fix one of the NBA’s worst teams.
“If it works? Great. And if doesn’t? Then my head is the one that’s going to be on the guillotine. I understand that. I accept that,” said Shaw, feeling the heat a scant seven games into his second season on the Denver bench.
“My question is: Do I continue to try to necessarily please everybody else by playing the style that the Denver Nuggets have always played, which is getting up and down the floor, if it’s not conducive to what we really have on this roster right now?” Shaw said.
“If anything, I may be more guilty of trying to please everybody else rather than maybe going with my gut,” Shaw said.
