Irving, Randolph Named Players of Week

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving and the Memphis Grizzlies’ Zach Randolph today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Jan. 26, through Sunday, Feb. 1.

Irving led the league in scoring at 31.5 ppg, as he helped the Cavaliers to a 4-0 week.  Irving, who shot 51.2 percent (22-of-43) from three-point range, added 5.3 apg, 3.5 rpg, and 1.75 spg.  During a 99-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 28, Irving connected on 11-of-19 three-pointers en route to a career-high 55 points.  Irving and the Cavaliers have won 10 straight games.

Randolph averaged 20.5 points (10th in the Western Conference) and 13.8 rebounds (second in the Western Conference) as he helped the Grizzlies to a 4-0 record.  Randolph recorded a point-rebound double-double in all four games, extending his streak of consecutive games with a double-double to 12.  On Jan. 31, Randolph contributed 21 points and 18 rebounds as Memphis topped the Oklahoma City Thunder 85-74.
