Dream vs. Mystics – preview, prediction and free picks

Daily WNBA Picks Today: women's basketball previews and free picks

In the Dream’s latest 76-75 defeat against the Phoenix Mercury, guard Courtney Williams led the team in scoring, closing out her performance with 20 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes played. Forward Monique Billings had 13 points, two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes on the court. Atlanta started off aggressive, finishing the first quarter with 27 points. However, considering they scored only 27 second-half points, the Dream lost their intensity. This has been the number one story for them throughout the course of the season. Atlanta is now 7-21 this season.

Furthermore, in Tuesday night’s blowout loss, the Mystics were defeated 105-71 versus the Seattle Storm. Washington’s Shavonte Zellous had 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes played. Guard Ariel Atkins accumulated 13 points and one rebound in 27 minutes played. Defensively, that was one of their worst performances of the season, allowing the Storm to score 33 points in the opening quarter and 28 points in the third quarter. After this discouraging loss, the Mystics are 10-18 for the season. For your WNBA picks, Bovada is one of the best sportsbooks.

Injuries:

Dream: Odyssey Sims is out due to personal reasons, Cheyenne Parker is out for the season and Candice Dupree is listed as probable for tonight’s game. This is because of a back injury. Additionally, Crystal Bradford is out for the season due to a foot injury, and Tianna Hawkins was downgraded to out because she is still recovering from a foot injury as well.

Mystics: Elena Delle Donne was downgraded to out due to a back injury, Ariel Atkins is out and Myisha Hines-Allen is out because of a non-COVID-19 illness.

Moreover, Atlanta is 9-5 against the spread when playing on the road this season. They are also 4-10 on the road overall. Not to mention, the Dream are 1-12 in their past 13 games played and 11-5 ATS in their previous 16 away games.

As for the Mystics, they are 8-5-1 ATS in home games. Plus, Washington is 7-7 at home so far this season. They are 1-4 in their last five games and the total has gone under in four of the team’s past five home games. For another notable betting trend, Washington is 8-2 straight up in the team’s last ten head-to-head matches against Atlanta.

With all things considered, despite Washington’s three-game losing streak, pick the Mystics to win and expect the total to go over 110. As stated before, the Dream have won only one game of the last 11 matches on the road. The team cannot be trusted.

Fever vs. Lynx – preview, prediction and free picks

Daily WNBA Picks Today: women's basketball previews and free picks

In the Fever’s 86-81 loss on Monday night against the Phoenix Mercury, guard Kelsey Mitchell finished her performance with 23 points, two rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes played. Guard Lindsay Allen earned 15 points, two rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes played. The Fever played ok throughout the majority of the matchup, but they scored only 10 points in the third quarter. This is why the team lost again. Indiana is now 6-21 this season.

For the Lynx, they lost 102-81 versus the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night. Aerial Powers led her team in scoring, putting up 20 points in 22 minutes played. She also finished with one rebound and two assists. Forward Napheesa Collier ended her showing with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes played. Inconsistent is the best word used to describe Minnesota’s effort. They can score 27 points in a quarter, but this occurs when the team is firing on all cylinders. Their 14-point performance in the second quarter contributed to their loss. The Lynx dropped to 18-10.

Injuries:

Fever: Danielle Robinson is listed as questionable for tonight’s game due to an ankle injury. Kysre Gondrezick is out indefinitely, Chelsey Perry is out for the season and Bernadett Hater is out indefinitely.

Lynx: Layshia Clarendon was downgraded to doubtful because she’s still recovering from a fibula injury. To add to the list, both Damiris Dantas and Rennia Davis are out for the season due to foot injuries.

The Fever are 5-7 ATS on the road and 2-10 away this season. They are also 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games and 5-17 straight up in their previous 22 games. The total has gone under in 11 of their past 15 games. For a reminder, Minnesota is 8-2 in the last 10 head-to-head games played against Indiana.

On the flip side, the Lynx are 5-1 in their last six games played. Minnesota is 9-4-1 ATS inside the Target Center this season and 11-3 at home overall. The team hasn’t lost in their last five home games, either. The total has also gone under in four of Minnesota’s past six home games. Therefore, pick the Lynx to win and the total will go under 110.
