Senior guard Joey Ptasinski scored a game-high 21 points to lead Lafayette to an 83-66 win over Princeton in a non-conference game Wednesday night in Easton, Pa.

Ptasinski made eight of 10 field-goal attempts, including five of seven from 3-point range. As a team, Lafayette made 10 of 17 from beyond the arc and 29 of 53 from the floor (54,7 percent).

Lafayette (2-1) scored the first seven points of the second half to build a 54-44 lead and take control of the game. Senior forward Seth Hinrichs scored four points and assisted Ptasinski in the game-clinching run in the first three minutes after halftime.

Princeton (1-2) cut the lead to five points twice afterward, the last time with 9:46 left on a jump shot by sophomore forward Pete Miller. Ptasinski answered with a 3-pointer and jumper on the next two possessions to increase the lead to 69-59 with 8:47 remaining. The Tigers did not threaten thereafter.
