Cavs’ Bennett out; Irving practicing
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Anthony Bennett has been excused from the team in order to return to Toronto to address a family health matter, the team announced Tuesday.
Bennett, who is averaging 4.1 points per game, will not travel with the team on the current road trip to Orlando and Atlanta.
Meanwhile, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving practiced with his teammates for the first time in two weeks after being sidelined with a biceps injury.
Irving, who has missed eight games, was able to take some contact during Tuesday’s workout, his first since straining a biceps tendon on March 16 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is team’s leading scorer, averaging 21.2 points per game.
