Los Angeles Lakers forward Wesley Johnson exited Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers due to a strained right hip flexor.

He was not expected to return to the game, and the Lakers announced that he wouldn’t travel with the team to Portland for a Monday night game against the Trail Blazers.

Johnson is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam in Los Angeles on Monday. He was averaging 9.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game entering play Sunday.

During the game against Indiana, the Lakers also announced that rookie forward Julius Randle will undergo an operation Tuesday to replace the score in a broken bone in his right foot. Randle sustained a season-ending broken right tibia during the Oct. 28 season opener.

Randle was the seventh overall pick in this year’s draft out the University of Kentucky. As a freshman, he helped the Wildcats reach the national championship game, averaging 15 points and 10.4 rebounds.
