Lillard: Game 5 Defeat ‘Gives us confidence’

The Trail Blazers’€™ hopes of winning a playoff series for the first time since 2000 were dashed Wednesday night, as Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lin steadied the Rockets to a 108-98 Game 5 victory before 18,230. But the Blazers insist their confidence remains resolute in the best-of-seven series.

“I think, if anything, it gives us confidence,”€ Damian Lillard said of the Blazers’€™ Game 5 defeat. “€œBecause we didn’€™t play very well … and we were still down one with three or four minutes left, with a chance to win the game. So any time you can do that after not playing well, I think you’ve definitely got to have some confidence based off of that.”€
