Spurs Extend Winning Streak to Three

Bryn Forbes had 18 points off the bench and the Spurs extended their winning streak to a season-high three games with a 114-83 victory over the shorthanded Blazers on Thursday night. Doug McDermott added 16 points and Dejounte Murray had 15 points and 13 assists for the Spurs. McDermott, acquired by the Spurs in the offseason from Indiana, started against the Blazers after missing four games with right knee inflammation.

The Spurs, who have the fewest 3-pointers in the NBA, made 11 in the opening half – including the first three baskets of the game. They had no 3-pointers in the third quarter and finished the game with 14. After a tumultuous start to the season, the Spurs are finally coming along. With that being said, it will be tough to make the playoffs this season in a loaded Western Conference.

Curry and Warriors Off to Torrid Pace

In a dazzling display of basketball brilliance, Stephen Curry and the Warriors are on an epic pace through the first 22 games of the season. They are averaging a blistering 113.1 points per game on 47.6% shooting while compiling the third-ranked offensive rating. They lead the NBA in assists and total steals. Curry is up to his typical MVP-ways, averaging 27.8 points per game on 45.2% shooting. The 12th year megastar has chipped in an impressive 6.6 assists and 5.7 rebounds as well.

Even more impressively, Golden State has been equally as dynamic on the defensive side of the ball. They are allowing only 100.5 points per game (1st) and rank second in rebounding percentage. They lead the NBA in defensive rating and rank second in defensive rebounding. It has been quite the spectacle for Warrior fans this season.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Spurs have come a long way from their dynasty days over the last decade. Their new young core of Derrick White, Dejounte Murray, and Jakob Poetl will have their fair share of growing pains. Although starting the season on a sour note, San Antonio has won three straight games and has turned up their intensity on the defensive end.

The Warriors are playing the best basketball in the entire NBA so far this season. They have won nine of their last 11 games while putting up scorching shooting performances in the process. Further, they are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games at the Chase Center.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors Pick

You would be crazy to bet against the Warriors during this rampant pace they have been on. Although the Spurs are playing better, they will be no match for Curry and the gang. Take the Warriors to win and win big.
