Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard was ruled out from Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers because of a sore left ankle.

Howard missed three games with the injury last week. After returning earlier this week, he felt pain during the second half of Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He had a cyst removed from the ankle on Tuesday.

Howard participated in Saturday’s shootaround while wearing slippers but said afterward he would not play against the Clippers.

The Rockets are also without starting point guard Patrick Beverley, who has a torn meniscus in his right knee.
