76ers waive F Kirilenko
The Philadelphia 76ers waived veteran forward Andrei Kirilenko on Saturday after he was suspended last month for not reporting to the team when he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets.
On Dec. 11, the 76ers traded forward Brandon Davies to the Nets for Kirilenko, a second-round pick in the 2020 draft, guard Jorge Gutierrez and cash. Kirilenko appeared in no games with the Sixers.
Kirilenko, 33, hasn’t played since Nov. 13 and only has played in seven games this season, averaging 0.4 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Kirilenko, playing his 13th NBA season, was in the final year of a $3.3 million contract. A first-round pick by Utah in 1999, he has averaged 12 points, six rebounds and three assists for his career with the Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Nets.
