Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins is expected to announce on Monday that he will leave Kansas after one season to enter the 2014 NBA Draft.

The school has scheduled a news conference for Monday afternoon, ESPN.com reported.

Wiggins averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Jayhawks this season, which ended with a third-round loss to Stanford in the NCAA Tournament.

A native of Ontario, Wiggins is projected as a top-three pick in the June draft. His decision to leave would come as no surprise. When Wiggins signed with Kansas, it was almost a foregone conclusion that he would be a one-and-done player.

Kansas teammate Joel Embiid also is expected to declare himself eligible for the draft, but the 7-foot freshman center said last week that he has yet to make a final decision.

Embiid was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after breaking the school record for blocked shots by a freshman with 72.

Both Wiggins and Embiid were named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Freshman All-America team. Wiggins also was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
