The Philadelphia 76ers (10-8, 10-8 ATS) will see their road trip take them to the Bay Area on Tuesday. There, the understaffed Sixers will be taking on the best team in the NBA thus far, the Golden State Warriors (15-2, 12-4-1 ATS), 10 PM EST, at Chase Center.

BetUS.com listing the Sixers as the huge underdogs to the Warriors isn’t surprising at all, given the latter’s gaudy record.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Golden State Warriors Team News

Joel Embiid might be rejoining his team as soon as the Sixers wrap up their six-game road trip Wednesday. According to John Clark of NBCS Philadelphia, the All-Star big man could suit up for the 76ers over the weekend after spending the last two weeks on the NBA’s health and safety protocol. Embiid, who averaged 21.4 points and 9.6 rebounds, last played against the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 8 before testing positive of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson has been ramping up his preparation for a possible Christmas Day comeback. The half of the Dubs’ Splash Brother hasn’t played an NBA game since falling with an ACL injury in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Nick Friedel of ESPN reported Thompson has begun participating in full practice, including 5-on-5 scrimmages with his team.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Golden State Warriors Injury Report

76ers: Danny Green – Questionable (Hamstring), Tobias Harris – Questionable (Hamstring), Grant Riler – OUT (Knee), Joel Embiid – OUT (COVID-19), and Ben Simmons – OUT (Suspension).

Warriors: Andre Iguodala – OUT (Knee), Gary Payton II – Questionable (Undisclosed), James Wisemen – OUT (Knee), and Klay Thompson (OUT – Achilles).

Philadelphia 76ers vs Golden State Warriors Preview

The Sixers gutted out a hard-fought victory over the Sacramento Kings, 102-94, on Monday. Tyrese Maxley put up solid numbers once more, scoring a team-high 24 points on 22 shots. Andre Drummond, meanwhile, dominated the battle for boards as he racked up 23 rebounds. Philadelphia broke free from a back-and-forth tussle with a 25-12 run in the fourth to surge ahead.

On Sunday, the Warriors captured their fourth straight win, cruising to a 119-104 win over the Toronto Raptors. Despite a bad shooting night from Stephen Curry, who only shot 2-for-10 from the field, the Warriors relied on the hot hands of Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole. The duo combined for 65 points while Otto Porter Jr. posted 15 off the bench.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Sixers would have a solid chance at dealing the Warriors their third loss if they only have a healthy Embiid on their side. Sadly, it all appears they are heading to their seventh loss in 10 games as they are up against an emerging title favorite. Another detail why bettors should consider picking the Warriors is their 9-1 slate at home this season. Moreover, Golden State leads the league with an average winning margin of +13.1 points and +16.4 points at home, showing that they can easily cover a double-digit handicap.
